For over 22 years, Foundation and Finishing has been delivering Velux Loft Conversions across Greater London. We convert existing loft spaces using roof windows only, keeping external changes minimal.

Our Services
Velux loft conversions (also known as rooflight conversions) are the simplest form of loft conversion. Instead of altering the roof shape with dormers or mansards, we fit roof windows into the existing slopes to bring in light and ventilation. Internally, we strengthen the floor, install insulation, create partitions, and fit a staircase to turn the loft into a usable room such as a bedroom, office, or hobby space.
Because Velux conversions do not significantly alter the external roof profile, they are often easier and quicker to deliver, with fewer planning constraints. They can be a costeffective way to gain extra space, particularly where existing head height is already reasonable. We manage the full process, including structure, roof windows, insulation, services, and finishes, so that the new room feels comfortable, bright, and properly integrated with the rest of your home.
Makes minimal changes to the external look of your home, which can help with planning.
Often the most straightforward and cost-effective kind of loft conversion.
Brings in generous natural light with well-positioned roof windows.
Suitable for bedrooms, studies, hobby rooms, or occasional guest spaces.
Can usually be completed more quickly than major roof-altering conversions.
Often falls within permitted development, keeping approvals simpler.

Our Process
Here’s exactly how we handle every project, from start to finish.
Here's exactly how we handle every project, from start to finish.
We measure everything, talk through your vision, and tell you what will actually work in your space.
Fixed price. Fixed timeline. No surprises halfway through your project.
Same team from day one to completion. Weekly progress photos. Direct line to Fares whenever you need answers.
It works best where there is already enough head height. We measure your loft to confirm whether a Veluxonly approach is viable.
Usually not, as the roof profile is not significantly altered. We still confirm the exact position for your property.
Modern roof windows have good thermal performance, and we can specify blinds, coatings, and ventilation strategies to manage solar gain.
These are typically quicker than more complex conversions, often taking around 4–6 weeks on site.
It depends on space and plumbing routes, but in many cases an ensuite is possible. We explore options at design stage.
